APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Dec. 28

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Dec. 28 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables and flowers.

Cut Flowers and Greenery Import Manual: The Cut Flowers and Greenery Import Manual (here) has been revised to update the following:

  • Procedures for inspecting cut flowers and foliage
  • Table 2-17, List of Flower and Country of Origin Combinations Eligible for Release
  • Entry requirements for Crocosmia spp., Gladiolus spp., Tritonia spp., and Watsonia spp.

Revisions, indicated by black change bars in the left page margins, are on the following pages:

  • Chapter 2: Procedures: Pages 2-21 and 2-24
  • Chapter 3: Reference: Pages 3-26, 3-31, 3-55 and 3-60.

Phytophthora Facilities List: The Approved Facilities for Hosts of Phytophthora ramorum list (here) has been updated. See the Plants for Planting Manual (here) on PPQ's Complete List of Electronic Manuals website (here) for more information.
