Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "China import").

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons to find either word (e.g. AD/CVD antidumping).

Acronyms: Use all capital letters (e.g., ACE).

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., CBP +releases).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., -ruling).

Singular form: Use the singular form when doing multi-word terms (e.g. "russian export control" instead of "russian export controls").

Shortest word form: When you have different word forms in a quoted term, include the shortest version if it is the last part of the expression (e.g., "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

FDA Seeks More Comments on Use of Fruit and Vegetable Juices as Food Color Additives

The Food and Drug Administration will allow more time for comments on a draft guidance document it issued in December on the use of fruit and vegetable juices as color additives in food, it said (here). The guidance document (here) includes a list of juices and FDA’s position on whether they are allowed as color additives in food under FDA’s regulations. Comments on the draft guidance are now due May 1.

CBP intends "to shut off [Automated Commercial System] Prior Notice Stand-alone transactions by March 9," the Food and Drug Administration said in a presentation at the March 1 Port of Newark quarterly brokers meeting. Also, the FDA noted that Foreign Supplier Verification Program information must be submitted through ACE starting May 30 for certain food products. A new application program interface for software vendors to incorporate a product code builder into software packages is also in the works, the FDA said. The interface is the result of requests for a product code query meant to help prevent rejections due to invalid codes, it said.
