US Export Controls

U.S. export controls include those imposed on dual-use goods under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) by the Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), as well as controls on exports of defense articles and services by the State Department's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) under the International and Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). The control lists administered by these agencies are the Commerce Control List (CCL) and the U.S. Munitions List (USML), respectively.

Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "China import").

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons to find either word (e.g. AD/CVD antidumping).

Acronyms: Use all capital letters (e.g., ACE).

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., CBP +releases).

The Commerce Department prorated the countervailing duty set on exporter The Ancientree Cabinet Co. in the countervailing duty investigation on wooden cabinets and vanities from China to account for the percentage of its U.S. customers that failed to verify nonuse of China's Export Buyer's Credit Program (Dalian Meisen Woodworking Co. v. U.S., CIT # 20-00110).

The Commerce Department will begin administrative reviews for certain firms subject to antidumping and countervailing duty orders with October anniversary dates, it said in a notice. Producers and exporters subject to administrative reviews on products from China or Vietnam must submit their separate rate certifications or applications on or about Dec. 16 in order to avoid being assigned high China-wide or Vietnam-wide rates.
