CBP has issued a CSMS message announcing recent changes to the 2010/2011 Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HS Update No. 1006). This update contains contains 34,598 ABI records and 6,073 harmonized tariff records.
The monthly container cargo count at the Port of Long Beach remained strong with a 24.6% increase in November compared to the same period a year ago. Overall, the Port moved 558,307 twenty-foot equivalent container units last month compared to 448,151 in November 2009.
Milwaukee Customs and Border Protection officers recently seized over $400,000 worth of counterfeit merchandise during an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) enforcement operation during the last month.
CBP has issued a Unified Business Resumption Messaging (UBRM) message announcing that the Canadian Blue Water Bridge port of entry is closed to commercial traffic as a State of Emergency has been declared in Sarnia, Ontario Canada and regional highways have been closed. The Port Huron, Michigan POE still remains open to commercial and passenger traffic.
