US Export Controls

U.S. export controls include those imposed on dual-use goods under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) by the Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), as well as controls on exports of defense articles and services by the State Department's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) under the International and Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). The control lists administered by these agencies are the Commerce Control List (CCL) and the U.S. Munitions List (USML), respectively.

Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "China import").

India Melamine: Commerce Issues CV Duty Final Determination

The Commerce Department issued its final determination in its countervailing duty investigation on melamine from India (C-533-925). Suspension of liquidation is currently not in effect for entries on or after Nov. 19, 2024, and Commerce will require cash deposits of estimated CV duties on future entries only if it issues a CVD order.

CIT Says Commerce Reasonably Picked Nail Maker's Financial Statements to Calculate CV

The Commerce Department reasonably picked the financial statements of San Shing Fastech Corp. to calculate the constructed value profit and indirect selling expenses of respondent Your Standing International in a review of the antidumping duty order on nails from Taiwan, the Court of International Trade held in a Feb. 7 decision. Judge Claire Kelly said the agency appropriately found that San Shing makes "comparable merchandise," has contemporaneous financial statements and sells over 70% of its products to markets outside the U.S.
