U.S. Customs and Border Protection and has issued the following news releases:
Los Angeles Field Operations of U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued Public Bulletin No. LA11-016 to provide updated information regarding the commodities and personnel assigned to import specialist and entry teams at the Los Angeles/Long Beach Seaport. The guide lists the merchandise assignments, supervisor names and telephone numbers of the LA/LB import specialist and entry teams in effect as of November 7, 2011.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted a Great Idea Form (GIF) to enhance the rail manifest system in M1 by allowing one bank of entry numbers to be entered into the system and used at all ports. The trade will be able to maintain one bank of entry numbers on a national level. Having this functionality reduces system maintenance and tracking requirements at a port level. Providing banks of entry numbers regardless of port increases system flexibility and provides the trade with a single point of monitoring. This in turn will reduce the risk of running out of entry numbers and impeding the movement of goods.
